Today the grade 5 students went to the Calgary Police Youthlink Interpretive Centre.  Share with a family member the Street Smart programs we went through in the morning.  Which program do think was the best for your learning? Why?  Do you have any recommendation of Street Smart programs that you think the Calgary Police should offer students?  With your Forensic investigation in the afternoon, who do you think is the main suspect in the Happy Mart robbery?  What specific evidence links that suspect to the crime?

Grade 4 students, share with family member your experience in Mrs. Johl's or Mrs. Turk's classroom. How did you show leadership today?

We have almost finished our Identity Inquiry presentations! Think about the different groups of people you have learned about in this project and from classmates' presentations. How have they contributed to the identity of Alberta and Canada? What role did they have in Alberta and Canada's history? What questions do you still have about these groups of people? We will be discussing your ideas in class tomorrow.

Homework: 
Continue to read a book of your choice for 15 minutes each day. How is the character is your book similar and different to March in our class read aloud Loot by Jude Watson?

Our class has been busy designing and building devices that use electricity for our Electrical Engineering Project! Our class has been learning about our brains and mindfulness! Share with a family member what you learned about the different parts of the brain. What does mindfulness mean? Why is mindful behavior important for us to learn and practice? Teach a family member how to use the core practice mindful breathing technique. How did you feel before core practice? How did you feel after?

We are continuing to build our electrical devices in Science! Do you need any supplies? Please bring any recycled material from home that you may need for this project, or let Ms. Makowski know of any supplies you need.
